Jakarta, February 28, 2023 – Insufficient nutritional intake leading to growth disorders in children, known as stunting, remains a serious issue in the country. According to survey results, the stunting rate in Indonesia was still at 21.6 percent in 2022.

The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) is targeting a 3.8 percent reduction in the stunting rate in Indonesia each year. This is being done in order to achieve the accelerated stunting reduction goal of 14 percent by 2024, as set by President Joko Widodo.

During the National Conference of the National Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN) on January 25, 2023, President Widodo also highlighted several important aspects of stunting prevention. One of his recommendations was to provide natural proteins such as eggs and fish to infants, rather than ultra-processed foods like biscuits.

In line with these targets, PT Hassana Boga Sejahtera Tbk. (“the Company”, IDX: NAYZ) emerges as one of the baby food companies playing a role in alleviating the stunting issue in Indonesia.

Lutfiel Hakim, the CEO of the Company, stated that NAYZ has completed a relayout and added new machinery to its existing factory located in Taman Tekno, South Tangerang. In 2023, the Company is prepared to produce more than Rp 100 billion annually, a significant increase from the previous maximum of Rp 37 billion per year. This value represents a growth of over 100% compared to the previous year’s sales.

NAYZ is also exploring a project of considerable value, and in the near future, it will collaborate with a state-owned enterprise (BUMN) to open “Warung Gizi” (Nutrition Kiosk) that empowers local micro, small, and medium-sized businesses (UKM).

NAYZ continues to actively assist the Government in preventing stunting, working together with community health centers (Puskesmas), integrated health posts (Posyandu), organizations, mother communities, and through nutrition and child nutrition awareness campaigns conducted through webinars with doctors and nutrition practitioners on a regular basis.

Lutfiel added how Nayz Bubur MPASI (baby porridge) has successfully contributed to addressing stunting issues. “In East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), one of NAYZ’s projects in collaboration with Dompet Duafa, NAYZ products are used by doctors there to address stunting. The results have been remarkable, as their children have grown healthy, transitioning from malnutrition to undernutrition, and ultimately to good nutrition.”

NAYZ products have achieved a 4-star rating for quality (carbohydrates, animal protein, plant protein, and fiber) due to their use of organic rice and vegetables as raw materials, animal proteins like beef and fish, addition of premix as a micronutrient supplement, and being far from the ultra-processed food category. This makes Nayz a viable choice for mothers with children aged 6 to 24 months.

Additionally, through the “30-Minute Mommy Cooking Movement” campaign, NAYZ encourages mothers to allocate time and cook for their children. “With just 30 minutes, a mother’s nutritional, nutritional, affectionate, and loving needs for her little one can be fulfilled,” Lutfiel concluded.
