Jakarta, May 22, 2023 – The Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGMS) of issuers of vocational services preparing for hospitality work placements, hotel and restaurant managers, PT Idea Indonesia Akademi Tbk (IDEA) approved the distribution of dividends of 55.53% of the Company’s retained earnings.
The dividend distribution decision was one of the results of the AGMS which was held offline on Monday 22 May 2023 at Amana Venue, South Jakarta, and ended with a Public Expose. The AGMS also approved and ratified the 2022 Annual Report and authorized the Board of Commissioners to appoint a Public Accounting Firm (KAP) to audit the 2023 Financial Statements.
Throughout 2022, IDEA recorded an increase in revenue from IDR 15.36 billion last year to IDR 18.27 billion, an increase of 18.95%, and recorded a net profit of IDR 609 million, a decrease of 15.52% from 2021 net profit of IDR 720.37 million. The largest income was contributed by the student program line of IDR 8.89 billion, the rest from the food and beverage business line of IDR 6.08 billion, and room rent IDR 3.23 billion.
Based on the December 2022 financial report, the unappropriated retained earnings amounted to IDR 1.9 billion, an increase of 46% from the December 2021 position of IDR 1.30 billion.
The Main Director of IDEA, Eko Desriyanto, said the decision to use the net profit for dividend distribution had considered the company’s expansion plans, financial conditions including company liquidity, and other considerations.
The company remains committed to distributing dividends to shareholders in the coming years in line with the company’s better financial achievements going forward.

2023’s Prospect
On that occasion, IDEA’s Director of Finance Edy Abdul Malik said that this year the company is more optimistic that its performance will increase again in line with the recovery of the Indonesian tourism sector amid the lifting of the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.
The company will be more efficient and collaborative with various parties to achieve several targets, namely, the number of students accepted can reach approximately 1,000 students in 2023, and the company will also continue operational activities in three branches and focus on increasing the revenue of Aidia Grande Hotel and The Thuba Café and Resto.
Edy explained, apart from several of the Company’s business lines that are currently running, namely Aidia Grande Hotel Lampung, Idea Indonesia Lampung, Surabaya, and Semarang, the Company is also exploring the expansion of opening branches in other cities and in 2023 the Company will sign an MOU for Venue Management. which is in South Jakarta so this year there will be a new source of income for the Company.
The expansion strategy includes increasing cooperation with High School/Vocational School (SMA/SMK/MA) for outreach and using IDEA facilities, adding outlets in Jakarta and other cities to make it easier for students to take hospitality courses, and activating hospitality management by managing wedding venues, hotels, and others.
Several catalysts that will support IDEA’s business in 2023 are the COVID-19 pandemic conditions that have been under control, mobility, and community activities that have returned to normal, as well as increased domestic and international tourism activities. “Interest in hotel occupancy has also increased again, the food and beverage industry has returned to normal in all regions of Indonesia. The school has also implemented 100% face-to-face learning. Along with this, we will focus on carrying out our various strategies,” said Edy.
